If your RV or campervan
has a propane tank that you can hook up to, then a propane generator
is a fairly good choice to bring with you. But otherwise it's a bit
of a hassle, mostly because propane tanks are typically larger and
weigh more than gas cans but also because the availability of propane
at your campsite or the area you're traveling to may or may not be
good, but you always know there's a gas station somewhere nearby with
gasoline or diesel for sale.
However incase you are
living off-grid for the long-term, then you can analyze the situation
in your local area and plan for that by increasing your propane
storage.
